Emily Borchers

Director of Innovation

Emily brings over a decade of experience working with Parkinson’s patients to her role as Director of Innovation at the Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson’s Wellness.  In this pivotal  position, Emily is responsible for delivering a robust process for guiding new members through registration, assessment and onboarding.  Additionally, she will lead the education and support activities at the Center, lead the research and innovation process, and working with partners throughout the Parkinson's community to develop new strategies and programs that support the Center's mission.

Emily received her doctorate in physical therapy from Ohio State University and is currently involved in a research study investigating outcomes in people with Parkinson’s disease participating in ongoing physical therapy and multilevel group exercise classes.

Emily enjoys all activities that involve being outdoors and active.  Her hobbies include backpacking, hiking, camping, dancing, playing sand volleyball, and hanging out with her goldendoodle dog named Izzie.
